Alot of US residents are crossing the border into Mexico to take advantage of their lower government subsidized gas prices. The Associated Press reports that
"A gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in San Diego retails for an average price of $4.61 a gallon. A few miles south, in Tijuana, it's about $2.54 — even less if you pay in pesos"A downside to this is the long wait to get back into the United States which can take over two hours. Some border towns are known for their gangs and violence so that is something to consider if you are thinking about trying it.
